My Grandfather was one of the few Heating and A/C businesss of his time. In those afternoons, only the wealthy had an cooling system, and most homes were either heated by a fireplace or a wood stove furnace. My superb Grandfather was a fantastic friend of the Heating and A/C business who built the first window cooling system and he wanted to contribute to the Heating and A/C industry in some way. He built the first portable cooling system prototype, and it was liked by Heating and A/C designers. His portable cooling system design began being built, and sold in markets around the world. My superb Grandfather also built and contributed to multiple other Heating and A/C units like the portable space heater, the hydronic furnace and later in his life, the first smart control unit. My Grandfather saw the rise in the Heating and A/C industry, and knew there would soon need to be a special company dedicated to the sale of Heating and A/C units, so he started the first cooling and heating company where he sold portable space heaters, cooling systems, parts for wood furnaces, and even air filters. His cooling and heating company became the model for all cooling and heating companies that started after. By the end of my superb Grandfather’s life. He had started six heating and cooling businesses, and invented a portable cooling system, current central cooling system, and the first simple smart control unit. There is an Heating and A/C museum with an entire section dedicated to my superb Grandfather.
