The entire time all of us were growing up, my father was trying to convince my sibling that he was going to be an Heating & A/C professional when all of us grew up.
I knew Mom wanted 1 of his youngsters to take over the Heating & A/C supplier when he retired, however my sibling didn’t want to be an Heating & A/C professional.
He wanted to go to school & become a veterinarian. I walked up to Mom & told him I would take over the Heating & A/C supplier, despite the fact that he laughed. He said he wanted his supplier to read, & Son, & not & Daughter. I told my father he was a sexist & walked away from him. I didn’t talk to him for several mornings, & he didn’t notice. My sibling was still being harassed about becoming an Heating & A/C professional, & I told him to ignore Mom. After graduation, I signed up for classes at the local school… Mom assumed I was going there for cosmetology, despite the fact that he was wrong. I went to school to become a certified Heating & A/C professional. My sibling kept saying Mom was going to be furious when he found out, although I didn’t care. He didn’t ask me what I wanted to do, however assumed what I would do with my life. Had he said something about me becoming an Heating & A/C professional, I would have gladly said that was what I wanted to be. Instead, I went to Heating & A/C school, graduated with honors, & am now working for 1 of his largest competitors. The only way I’ll ever work for my Mom is if he makes me a working partner in the Heating & A/C supplier.
