Besides the new air conditioning systems we were scouting for, we also needed a temperature control device.
The options were several, not just in terms of the brand but also in types.
We found out that there are four types; programmable, non-programmable, wifi-enabled and intelligent. A visit to the HVAC business was very informative because we learned a lot. The initial purpose of the trip was to find out about their a/c care plan. We had just moved to the area, and we needed an air conditioning tune-up. We also needed a cooling expert to check if the house required duct sealing and other services that would positively impact the indoor air quality. After a few deliberations, we opted for a smart thermostat because we planned to replace the heat pump soon and install a zone control system. The cooling specialist took us through several units that would work well with what we wanted, and from the list, the one we liked best was the mini split air conditioner. This type of system is ductless, and therefore we would not need any HVAC duct. However, the new contractor told us that until then, we had to take good care of the HVAC that we had. The children were not very excited about starting over in a new school or making friends again, but we had little choice. The new job had better pay and allowances, and even my wife found a position near the place. It is like we had struck a pot of gold. Other than the social aspect, everything else was an upgrade.
