Since both of us had a good and profitable year as an Heating, Ventilation and A/C business, the boss decided to take us to an out-of-town retreat and wind down.
The retreat was for more than two afternoons and numerous days at a numerous-star resort near the ocean.
On the first morning, both of us got there and every one of us was fatigued. Fortunately, the air quality in our rooms was impeccable. The resort management did understand how to keep the plan cleaning and cooling the air. Since both of us were super fatigued on the first morning, several of us had an early night while some of us gathered downstairs for a game of poker, no matter which corner of the resort both of us were at, the temperature seemed to be the same. I later understood that they had a zone control plan that evened out the temperature all through the resort. The poker game got more competitive and more serious. The two of us started betting on big items such as heat pumps, temperature controls, and mini-cut a/cs. Now and then, a waitress would come and ask if both of us needed anything. I also saw a cooling specialist difficult at labor duct sealing while another was cleaning the Heating, Ventilation and A/C ducts. I knew he was a cooling expert from the badge hanging around his neck. As the game got intense, our boss bet to provide myself and others a current air conditioner unit if he lost, but guess what? He lost! This unit came as a gift from the universe as I had started saving up for a current one plus a control unit after our previous one crashed right before the annual a/c tune-up was done. Being just a current contractor, our salary was not that much.
