There was always one strict rule in our house, which was not to lie, and everyone made mistakes, but you had to own up to them. Once you told a lie, you had to continue to lie to cover the first lie you started with, then my child Bob broke that rule many weeks ago. When Bob said she was sweeping as well as reading the inventory, it made more sense, but Bob never came current home dirty as well as looked just as fresh as when she left for work. Some mornings, Bob would come current home late, but our wife would not question him about it.
