I went through a few different local HVAC contractors before finding a qualified expert. I mean, all these people claim they are experts, but you can’t always take their word for it. It usually depends on the individual. Some people could go to HVAC school for a long time and not learn enough to be a true professional. Some of these guys, I wonder if they cheated on their HVAC certification exams, because you do have to pass those tests in order to be qualified. Anyway, none of these people were able to help me out with my problem with costly energy bills. Nobody gave me any energy saving tips or anything. They didn’t even check the whole of the HVAC system, and I’m talking about the ductwork included. It wasn’t until I finally was referred to an HVAC expert who worked on his own. He said he actually didn’t have an overwhelming amount of clients, but he hoped he would gain more business in the future through word of mouth advertising. I thought that was kind of an outdated way to get the word out about your business, but this guy seemed confident in his skills. He was the real deal, he checked everything and he also checked the pressure of my ductwork system. He explained that the pressure reading told him what he needed to know. He checked the ductwork carefully and found there was a leak as he suspected. He said this was a huge reason for my energy loss and high energy bills. He performed the ductwork sealing and showed that my pressure was back to healthy levels. He also provided me with some helpful energy tips, like using cooking devices other than the stove in the heat of the summer.
