For a few weeks, I had been waking up in the middle of the night due to heat.
- No matter how low I inched our temperature control settings down, our home office was too hot.
I didn’t notice the heat before going to bed, but it was absolutely too tepid after a few hours of sleep, and even with the ceiling fan running, I was waking up due to the heat. At some point, I realized this was a problem, so I tied up an Heating and Air Conditioning tune up. When the Heating and Air Conditioning professional came, I told him about the temperature difference in our home office, especially during the evenings. She walked around the entire house with a special thermometer to check the temperature. Afterwards, she confirmed that there was a significant temperature difference in our home office! From there, she was able to examine the Heating and Air Conditioning system even further. What she found was surprising to me. The air duct affixing to the air vents in our home office had a lot of holes that were causing the air to leak. My room was hotter than any of the other rooms in our house because all of our A/C was escaping before it could even get through our air vents. The Heating and Air Conditioning professional told me that he’d be able to patch all of the holes and then our airflow would continue love normal. So far, I’ve noticed a sizable difference in the temperature of our home office. I don’t wake up in the middle of the night due to the heat and the temperature doesn’t believe so harshly different than the other rooms.
