I think one component of living a happy life is not complaining about things and trying to enjoy the moments as they pass. I don’t want to wake up when I am 90 years old and realize that I was worried and complaining most of my life. I learned this from the HEPA filter saleswoman who worked at the local business where I used to live. I think it is possible to enjoy life as it happens and to be present while it is happening. It just takes some practice to do so, but I feel that we can all have a happier life if we learn to be present and not judge so much everything that comes our way. The worker at the HVAC supplier shop really showed me a lot about living in the present moment and just enjoying the ride as much as possible. I think she is right, because if you complain and are negative most of the time, when you look back on your life it won’t seem so nice. I am learning to enjoy my ductwork cleaning jobs and HVAC installation jobs more and have fun doing them. I wouldn’t say it is always a barrel of monkeys, but most of my days at work are kind of nice. I used to dread having to go work on commercial heating and cooling systems, but now it is mostly an enjoyable experience and I have the HEPA filter lady to thank for teaching me it. I will try to spread the wisdom to others when I have the chance.
