I am not a fan of using my HVAC unit during the Winter months.
As a child, I lived in a city where we used a radiator for heating.
And I can remember how hot it used to be inside my house, to the point where I used to open my bedroom window just to get some relief. This triggered a condition and that is nosebleeds that I still suffer from today. Thankfully, I live in a state where the Winters are normally mild. So, I don’t need to use my central heating at all. I don’t like my home being too hot, and that’s because I am prone to getting nose bleeds. If I remain in the heat for too long in the Winter, it’s guaranteed that I will get them. Nosebleeds are caused when the cold air dries out the sinuses and mucous membranes, which then weakens the membranes and causes them to crack. In addition to the cold weather, the heat also makes the situation worse, so even though the temperature might be cold outside, I skip using the central heating in fear that it will cause my condition to worsen. While the condition is not life threatening, it’s still a bit scary when I get them. Therefore, I would rather be safe than sorry, and while I can’t control the weather outside, at least, I have full control of the temperature inside my home. It has been a few years since I have gotten a nose bleed and I would like to keep it that way. Even if it means skipping on using my central heating during the Winter months.
