If I had stayed there I surely would have been dead by morning.
My smart thermostat had some serious issues lately. But the worst issue is when it lost control and started turning on by itself and making my house so hot I had to leave and go to a hotel for the night! The smart thermostat flipped on the heating at a very high temperature here in the middle of summer time. It was supposed to be the air conditioning but it went to heating and it would not shut off! I ever pulled it out of the wall and ripped the batteries out and it still would not shut down my central heating and air conditioning system’s heater! It was like it was possessed or something. I had to call the local heating and air conditioning company from the hotel to schedule them to send out a certified heat and a/c specialist to dismantle the smart thermostat and then get my central heating and air conditioning system’s heater to shut off. The next day came and when the heating and air conditioning specialist arrived at my house it was well over one hundred degrees in there from the heating being stuck on. If I had stayed there I surely would have been dead by morning. The heating and air conditioning specialist got it to shut off and then issued me a brand new and up to date smart thermostat. This new smart thermostat was much better than the one I had. It seemed my old one had a short in it which caused all the issues that it was having. I was glad to have a new smart thermostat and my HVAC system under control.
