I really hate the idea in our culture that women are supposed to be sweet, docile, and subservient.
I’m really tired of people telling me that I am too direct and bossy for being a woman.
I am also sick of anyone telling me that I need to smile in order for them to be comfortable. How I look is how I look. How I act as how I act. My gender has absolutely nothing to do with that. That’s why I was really blown away and impressed by the heating and cooling technician who performed my most recent central HVAC maintenance repair service. I had never seen a female heating, cooling, and air quality control specialist before in my life. On the morning that the HVAC work truck pulled into my driveway and I saw a beautiful woman hop out I was very excited to see what kind of work she would do on my central air conditioning system and forced air furnace. I wanted to know another woman who was strong and skilled, even if my line of work has nothing to do with indoor air handling devices. When she arrived at the door the lady HVAC worker had a younger man with her. She explained that he was the newest HVAC intern at the heating and cooling repair dealership. She was doing her best to demonstrate proper residential heating, cooling, and ventilation repair services to him. I could tell that the young man was very disrespectful to his HVAC mentor. I heard him giving herself in the basement as they inspected the furnace. Shortly thereafter, I heard the lady HVAC technician let loose on a diss young hooligan. The HVAC intern immediately stormed up the steps and pouted in the driveway while my lady HVAC tech fixed the furnace. Good for her.
