I like to save money in any way that I possibly can.
I have a budget for nearly anything and everything. My parents gifted myself and others their very outdated SUV our junior year of high university, and the SUV had already been in the family for numerous years. It had well over 78,000 miles on it by the time it was passed into our hands. I squeezed another six years out of the vehicle, and by the time I was thinking about getting it replaced, it was pushing 150,000 miles. I may be frugal, but the one thing that made myself and others finally decide to get a new vehicle was that the a/c finally failed. I just couldn’t handle that in this oppressive and humid heat both of us experience down here in the south! When I took it to the mechanic’s shop, I was informed that there were a host of other complications with the vehicle, and it was well on its way out. At that point, I was dreaming of a new vehicle with a powerful a/c, and I had managed to save up a fantastic amount due to our aforementioned frugalness, so I finally caved and decided to buy a new vehicle. Well, not a new vehicle, per se. I got a used vehicle from a rental supplier’s sales lot. It had just 45,000 miles on it and was more than one years old. When I cranked the a/c to max on an undoubtedly hot and humid afternoon for the test drive, I fell in love, sure, all the other features were truly fantastic in the vehicle, but I was missing that a/c!
