Growing up, our Grandpa was a heating plus cooling contractor.
He always lived right down the street from us, and all of us spent a lot of time over at his house when we were kids.
When my Grandpa was the type of person who loved to talk about his work plus he always loved to teach us about it. I remember that he would teach us all kinds of little things about the heating plus cooling at his house. Once in a while, he would let me ride to work with him. I couldn’t do anything to help him, however I felt appreciated and like I was grown up so that was fun for me as a young boy. One thing I remember is that a few times a year, all of us would always help Grandpa swap out his air filters in the HVAC system. My Grandpa told us that one of the biggest problems he sees when going on Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C calls is that people don’t change their air filters. People just don’t stay on top of switching out and cleaning their dirty or clogged filters; As a result, it causes issues with their gas furnace, usually with the limit switch. On top of that, dirty filters reduce the efficiency of the gas furnace. When I was old enough to live out on my own, my grandpa made sure to tell me how to take care of my HVAC system and to change our filters once a quarter. I always think of him when I change our filters.
