When all of us kids finally got out of their hair, my parents wasted no time getting on with their lives.

The made sense to me. They’d raised all of us and made us the center of their lives for such a long time. Of course, they should be able to enjoy the next part of their life. I’m the youngest and my two older siblings are out of college as well. I was doing pretty good with my first new job. While just three years out of school, it was a good job and things were going my way until the pandemic hit. Before I knew it, the office and the commercial HVAC were shut down and I was sent home to work remotely from the air conditioning in my apartment. But that didn’t last very long. I was afraid that I would end up being one of the first to get let go. They made sense considering I was one of the last ones to join the commercial HVAC of that office. Still I had hope so I kept doing my work from the rather poor air conditioning in my apartment. When that pink slip eventually came, there was nothing I could do to change that. I held on as long as I could but it made no sense to try to hold on to my lease without any steady work. While I was doing some online gigging, it wasn’t paying all the bills. God bless my parents because they were right there to welcome me into their new place and the awesome HVAC they have. They went all in on the HVAC technology for sure which made staying with them until I got back on my feet a real comfort.
