Save money on your next HVAC system

Every dollar counts, and if you don’t agree with me then you must live in a different economy. Our economy is tight as a drum right now, with prices going up, services going down, and pay not budging an inch. Employers complain that “no one wants to work” but they don’t want to pay for good people! The point is not political, it’s that we should all be doing what we can to save money wherever possible. A lot of us pay extra for things we don’t really need, such as extra cooling. I am not saying that air conditioning isn’t worth paying for – of course it is, we can’t live without it!. I am saying that we all pay more for air conditioning than we should, and it’s an area where you can save big money without sacrificing comfort. Even something as small and easy to replace as an air filter can end up costing you hundreds of dollars if you ignore it.

A dirty air filter restricts the air circulation in the house, so the central system has to work a lot harder to produce the same results.  You should change your air filter about once every two months, even if it doesn’t appear to need replacing. Better safe than sorry, right? Buy a multipack of air filters, so you can change them out as needed without stressing about it. If you have a smart thermostat, then it will sound an alarm, send you a text message, and tell you exactly when the filter needs to be changed.
