Sunrooms are a great way to stay cool

There is nothing better than relaxing in a sunroom reading a book, sipping a cold beverage or simply enjoying your container plants and flowers. In some climates, however, a sunroom may get a bit warm in the summer, and it might be necessary to cool off now and then. If you only need a ceiling fan or a portable fan, you may not need anything else. Problem solved. Occasionally, you may prefer a chillier air temperature. Portable and window air conditioners are traditionally inexpensive and don’t require ductwork. Typically, they were loud and intrusive. As a result of these negatives, air conditioner manufacturers have developed models that effectively cool and aren’t as noisy. There are even newer versions of window units that look more attractive than older versions, so you might not mind having one in your house. Make sure you compare prices. You might find a portable or window unit that’s just right for the summer. It can be removed from the window or parked in the garage once you’re finished with it. Ductless mini split systems have become more popular with U.S. homeowners. The distribution of conditioned air can be done without ducts with heat pumps. An outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air handler are connected by a conduit with refrigerator lines and wiring. With mini split systems, it is easier to cool and heat small spaces without extending ductwork. These devices are compact, quiet, and easy to mount, so they are not intrusive.
