The answer was sort of right in front of Boniface the whole time.
It’s just that he couldn’t see it.
But when he did, it was sweet relief. Like many other families across the globe, Boniface made the decision to go through his legitimate share of adjustments when the pandemic was raging. He got sent home from the zone controlled Heating and A/C of the office to work from his cabin. And that came with no bonuses and a pay cut for like 16 months. Yet, Boniface managed to work inside the air conditioning of his cabin that first Summer. His partner was unfortunate as she lost her job completely. That’s when the panic nearly got the best of them. Her paycheck was just about half of their income and it was now suddenly gone. The cabin they own together comes with a mortgage that was right at the edge of their finances. And now the unthinkable had happened. It’s not like she could just apply and get hired because nobody was hiring. His partner managed to get some gig work online and work alongside him inside the central air conditioning. But that didn’t come close to helping them make ends meet. They thought they were going to have to sell the cabin. When the answer came, it was like a bolt of lightning for both of them. The basement was finished and had its own entrance and a bathroom with a shower. All they had to do was have the Heating and A/C business come out and install a ductless heat pump down there and they could rent it out. That ductless heat pump might have saved their home.
