The holiday was simply the best. My partner and I spent quite some time traveling all over the continent. We ate the finest foods, slept in the nicest hotels, and even spent several days camping under the stars. It was literally a dream come true. All good things have an ending, as the saying goes. When my partner and I returned to the condo everything was upside down. Since we have cats, we asked our neighbors to look in on them every day. The cats were nice and healthy, but the a/c wasn’t working. My partner checked the thermostat and saw that it had been cranked all the way down to 67 degrees. Thanks to this being a smart thermostat we could pull up all the recent data, and note that the settings had been changed 2 weeks ago. My partner and I asked our neighbors why he had turned on the air conditioning and set it to such a low temp. They replied that the cats seemed quite uncomfortable so they adjusted the air conditioning to help them. We told our neighbors that by lowering the air conditioning settings by almost 16 degrees they had overworked the system. Now our air conditioning was broken, and it was 100% their fault. Our neighbors are those people who think that pets have the same feelings as humans. Since they felt the AC should be lower they assumed the cats felt the same way. My partner and I learned our lesson that day. We will never let our neighbors take care of our cats or air conditioning ever again.
