I did see two green army guys in the ductwork

I received a telephone call from a lady that was frantic because she thought that there were rats in the ductwork of her home. I got some information from the lady like her name, telephone number, and address. I was the person to take the call. I wasn’t sure if I would actually be able to solve the problem. If there were rats in the ductwork of her home, she was going to need to get an exterminator out there before I could do anything to help with the ductwork problems. I had one air conditioner repair that morning before I went to help the lady with the ductwork problem. The air conditioner repair was much easier to fix than I expected, so I ended up at the next address an hour ahead of time. The woman was very happy that I showed up earlier instead of later. I started checking the duct work for signs of rats or mice. It’s really easy to tell if there have been animals inside of the ductwork because they leave droppings everywhere they go. I used a special camera to look through most of the ductwork. The camera is on the end of a long pole that is stretchy. I didn’t see any evidence of animals in the ductwork and that includes rats and mice. I did see two green army guys in the ductwork. They were right above the area where the woman said she heard the noise. I suspected they might have been rattling around. I didn’t charge the woman a fortune for the information or the retrieval of the two captains.

Every once in a while, there are some pretty good perks to being an HVAC sales person.

I got 50 lb of steaks from a butcher one time when I went to fix his commercial AC and Refrigeration unit.

Another time, I was at the bakery working on a commercial boiler. The bakery gave me free donuts for a month. Recently I was at the donut shop working on a commercial heating problem. The owner of the donut shop called because the commercial heating system was not working overnight. There was no one in the shop overnight, but the owner arrived the next morning and temperatures were in the ’50s. That was a very good sign that the heat was out overnight. I was the technician assigned to the commercial repair. Honestly, it wasn’t really a very hard or difficult repair. The biggest issue was reaching the area where the repair needed to be made. It was a small space and there wasn’t a lot of room to work. I called someone at the front office so they could bring part to the donut shop. I wasn’t too far from the shop and I knew that the parts guy would be able to bring things more quickly. I sat down at a table to write out the bill and estimate and the owner of the donut shop brought me some fresh croissants that just came out of the oven. The croissants were filled with cheese and the sweet flavor was absolutely delicious. When I was finished repairing the commercial heating system, the owner of the donut shop sent me back to the office with two dozen fresh donuts for everyone at the shop.

The woman has 10 years experience and recently moved to the area

I lost two really smart employees during the time of covid. The guys ended up quitting and moving somewhere else to be closer to family. We had barely any work for a month or two after the original quarantine, so I knew it was going to be hard to retain all of my crew members. After the covid crisis seemed to calm down, I lost two more employees. I’ve been advertising online for the past month and I have been unable to find anyone to help me in the business. It seems as though no one wants to work a full-time job these days. I interviewed a couple of guys last week and they wanted a sign on bonus to take the job. I’ve never heard of any heating or AC repair technicians getting a sign on bonus. I interviewed two candidates a couple of days ago. But then I ran his background check. The guy is a felon and he has served time in federal and state prison. I can’t hire an employee like that to work with residential and commercial customers. I need an employee that is absolutely trustworthy with no questions about his moral compass. I have a couple of more interviews that are scheduled for Thursday and I am hopeful one of those will bring good results. I am particularly excited about a female applicant. The woman has 10 years experience and recently moved to the area. Maybe I could snatch her up before one of the bigger service providers gets to her first.

When my boyfriend and I got back to the hotel, we weren’t concerned with where we were putting our clothing.

We were both ready to jump into bed. It had been a very long day. We left the hotel room at 8:00 in the morning to go to the city and we spent all day there. We did not return back to the hotel until it was 3:00 in the morning. When I woke up, I looked for my shirt. I wanted to go outside and smoke a cigarette on the balcony but I didn’t want to do it nude. I found my shirt. It was underneath that air conditioner. Unfortunately, the AC unit was leaking something gross on my shirt. It was a practically brand new shirt and there was some kind of brownish red substance all over it. I woke up my boyfriend and I told him about my shirt. He was just as angry and upset as me and he said that he was going to take care of the problem. He got dressed and went downstairs. He was gone for almost an hour. He came back with breakfast, thankfully. He also came back with good news. The manager of the hotel apologized for the trouble with the AC and reimbursed us for one night of our stay to make up for the shirt that was destroyed. The manager of the hotel also offered to send a repair guy to fix the AC or to put us in a different room for the remainder of our stay.

My wife and I went to the county fair a couple of weeks ago. While we were there, I filled out some paperwork to try to win a ductless heating and AC system. My wife was not very happy that I filled out the paperwork, because I had to give them my name, address, and phone number. That we were going to get a bunch of sales calls. I didn’t see very many people filling out the information and I thought I had a pretty good chance of winning so I ignored my wife’s advice and filled out the paperwork. A couple of days later, the first phone calls began. At first it was a hotel trying to get us to stay with them for a couple of days. Then it was people from the cable company trying to get us to switch providers. When I started getting phone calls from different phone providers, I realized that my wife was correct. I forgot all about the ductless AC unit until yesterday when I received a voicemail from the same company that was offering the free giveaway. I listened to the voicemail carefully and the message was a notification that I was in fact the winner of the ductless heating and AC unit. I had to contact the company to schedule a time for installation and to go over all of the paperwork, but I could have the new machine installed at any time. I guess we were both right when it came to giving out all of our personal information.

My brother and I are both ex-engineers from S.V. in Cali, you know, the locale where all of the giant tech companies began in the late 72’s and early 90’s. They were paying myself and others the giant bucks back then to build circuit boards for pagers, however after doing it for multiple years I felt that I wanted to get out of the business for good. I like to solve problems and service things, however that task ended up being a bunch of reports and meetings, so I left and never went back to it. Furnace service and air conditioner installations are much more rewarding to myself and others than reports and meetings, so I got into the Heating and Air Conditioning field and have been dabbling around in it for the past 20 years or so. I thought when I was going to engineering college that the tasks would be more exciting, however after getting into it I discovered that the corporate world was full of busy out type A personality people whom I did not want to be around. Fixing heating and cooling unit is way more fun for myself and others and today the two of us are going to do just that when the two of us go to mom’s house later on. Ever since leaving the corporate engineering world, I bet I have worked an average of 15 hours a week, which has given myself and others a lot more freedom than I would have had if I stayed in the engineering racket. Working on a furnace or a/c unit gives you an immediate reward once you find the solution, and that is all I need to guess relaxing nowadays.

When I first got out of college I thought I wanted to be an engineer for the rest of our life.

• But after doing it for seven years I decided it wasn’t a great fit for myself and others so I left the industry.

I then ran our own local company & was buying houses, thinking I wanted to be a real estate tycoon, but it didn’t guess right so I left… After that, I became a comedian & thought I would make it & become famous, but when that didn’t happen I left once again. Now I write heating & cooling industry articles & am just going to make enough money to get by till I hang up our working boots in 14 more years. I live overseas now in a small city & I could certainly live off of our social security checks each week when I am 69. I play rock n roll in a band in air conditioned & heated clubs & would love to do this the rest of our life, unless I get bored of that too! I don’t guess love I will get bored with rock n roll though & will keep doing the Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech writing work to float myself and others along while I keep doing our rock n roll thing. There isn’t a lot of money in rock n roll, & that is good with me, as I just want to entertain people & have fun for the rest of our time on this planet. I wish I saved more money when I was working as a local company in the Heating, Ventilation & A/C field but it didn’t work out that way.

Not too long ago, I was walking around my floor in the office building at work, and every single Person was either wearing a jacket, wearing a sweater, wrapped up in a blanket, or running a little portable heater.

That is absolutely crazy! Why don’t they just turn the thermostat hotter? I think this is a question for the age.

I have never worked in an office building that had the HVAC settings set just perfectly. Someone is always hot, and someone is always cold. Although in this case, on this particular day, there was no one who was not using some sort of heater. I, personally, had my little portable heater plugged in. I keep a sweater hanging on the back of my door, but I just didn’t feel like wearing that, so I used my heater instead. Anyway, as I walked around and saw people battling the cold as if they were outside, it occurred to me that if we simply could figure out how to get top-notch HVAC in all the office buildings in the country, we would have no more problem with the environment. That might be a stretch of the imagination, but you must admit that having an air conditioning blowing and little heaters blowing at the same time all throughout the building is a terrible waste of energy. We are always worried about saving the environment, having a smaller carbon footprint, taking mass transit instead of driving, Etc, and yet here we all are working in buildings that are freezing cold for no apparent reason. I really am going to have a talk with our operations director to see if there is something we can do about the heating and cooling situation so that I don’t feel so guilty about killing the planet every day while I’m working.

Do you work in an office outside your home? Even though I would love to work from home, my workplace does not really allow that for most of us.

I do understand it because we really do need to have a lot of cooperation among the various people on my team, so it really does make sense for us to be gathered in a central location.

If you have an office outside of your home, do you have something in your office that is your favorite thing ? Without a doubt the favorite thing I have in my office is my portable heater. I use my portable heater just about every single day, although there are the occasional days when heating is not needed. Most of us choose to run our little heaters even during the summer months because the office air conditioning is just too cold. My office is so small that the AC vent blows right on me and there is no way to turn the air conditioning a different way. There’s only room in my office for me, my desk and my AC vent. You can understand, then, why I so enjoy my electric heater. There are some young women in the office who actually keep blankets in their office to wrap up on certain days. There is no way I could do that. If I wrapped myself up in a soft cozy blanket, I would fall asleep at my desk. Therefore, I have to rely on my little portable heater instead.

A few days ago, the Friday before Christmas, was the last day in the office for us at my workplace.

We are closed for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, so it is quite an enjoyable time for everyone.

Just about everyone in the office has a little portable heater that they plug in on days when it is just too chilly. That happens quite a bit, sometimes even in the summer months. It’s certainly not cold outside in the summer, but sometimes the AC thermostat is just a little too low for everyone’s Comfort. Plus, being on the second floor, we seem to have a little bit more air conditioning blowing around the need you down on the bottom floor. That being the case, the air conditioning is set to keep the people on the bottom floor comfortable so that they are not sweating. Anyway, one of the big topics of discussion on Friday before Christmas Was whether or not we should bring our little portable heaters home with us. I seriously considered bringing my portable heater home because it is extraordinarily really cold this week. We hardly ever get this kind of cold weather here in the South, but we certainly are getting it this week. I am having to go out at night and turn it on the faucet outside, and I am running one or two Faucets in the house as well. A couple of people in my office decided to bring their heaters home, but I decided to leave mine in the office. I think it was a bad decision, because it really would be nice to have a little extra heater to blow right on me without having to turn down the thermostat on the central furnace. Anyway, it’s not a crisis, because we do live in this world of plenty. Even though I have to use the heating system everyday, I am still enjoying my week off.

Do you have cold spots or hot spots in your house? Believe it or not, this is very common. Even though HVAC technology has come a long way just in my lifetime, there are still a lot of homes whose heating and cooling systems do not heat and cool the house evenly. I have a house that has just such things happen to it. There are little corners and Cubbies where it just doesn’t get as warm as it does in the middle of the room. The same holds true in the summer months where there will be spots in the corners where it feels like the heater is on, when it is only just the natural Sunshine Of Summer. That does not mean that we have to put up with all of the little HVAC annoyances. HVAC technology has come a long way in the 40 years or so that I have been enjoying Heating and Cooling in my homes. When I first moved to this state as a child, we did not have any air conditioning. The only AC that people seemed to have was window units. There was such a thing as central air conditioning, but it was extremely rare, at least among people in my Social Circle. Later, we moved into a home that had Central Heating and Cooling. Of course we were way down south, as far south as you could go almost, so the heater never got used. We didn’t even refer to it as Central Heating and Cooling, we simply called it central air conditioning, or simply the AC. In any event, since those days when window air conditioning units were all the rage, there have been literally dozens and dozens of changes and improvements made to HVAC systems. If you are still using an outdated heating and cooling system that results in hot spots or cold spots in your house, you should consider upgrading.
