New and Modern HVAC Equipment

I still remember seeing the horror movie Friday the 13th when I was a teen. It’s such a cool campy movie and they made so many sequels I can’t even count them on 2 hands. I’m not really superstitious but when I was running my painting contractor back in the afternoon I never would walk under a ladder. It may be a smart idea not to because someone could be now working above and drop something and then your bad luck would start. I’ve seen air conditioner window units fall from the second floor of a building and come crashing down on the street. Luckily, nobody was walking below it or they would be toast, and that would be called an unlucky afternoon. I am thrilled I don’t have those wall A/C units in my house anymore, the central air conditioner machine is much more efficient and quiet. They have really got the HVAC technology down to a science and running the A/C machine a lot on warm days doesn’t cost you so much anymore, if you have a newer machine that is. I am going to relax this week and take it simple because I did a lot of tasks this week on the outside of the house and am pretty fatigued and sore. I may do some task on the temperature control for my smart control machine because it is running too warm at night after setting it to a cooler temperature. I know it is an energy saving program that changes the temperature in the middle of the night on the control unit.

I got fed up with my dust dust sensitivities last month and went online to solve the problem. I ended up buying a whole home air cleaner and it was delivered this week. We are going to have it installed in a couple of hours and I should be in nice shape when I wake up tomorrow. We are waiting for the HVAC rep to arrive and his A/C tech neighbor to help him install it. They said it will be installed by the end of this week and they gave us a PPM meter to measure the air quality before and after they install it. I recognize we need to run it for an afternoon or so before we get a clear idea of how well it is working. I’ve never had one in my house before so this should be a nice test to see how well they clean the air and how much it improves my dust sensitivities. I run the central HVAC method with its HEPA filter but it doesn’t seem to get all of the dust from the air so hopefully this thing does. I would enjoy to ditch the flu symptom meds and not have to rely on them anymore as I’ve been doing for so several years. They said that the air cleaner has the best HEPA filter on the market and with its latest technology it will remove almost all of the contaminants in the air. I have a fireplace which I use occasionally and they said it would also help keep the air clean of smoke, so that is an added bonus.

I think we need to run it for a day or two before we get a clear idea of how well it is working. I have a lot more experience with the sport than them so I ended up gently coaching them and giving them tips for improving their game.

I like helping people learn the sport but you have to be careful telling people what to do because some of them don’t like being told. But they were happy to learn new tips for improving and we had a fun time playing. I suppose I won every game, hehe. The local supplier across the street from the courts plays live music so we get free entertainment while we play. I also usually go over there after we play to sit in the cool air conditioner and drink a few beers while enjoying the band playing their funky music. I don’t know if I will be playing today because I am quite sore, but if I go down there later and people invite me to play I don’t think I will be able to say no. I am better served today resting and possibly talking to the local dealer, who lives next door to me, about tuning up our HVAC system next week. I may do some painting around the new home today and get that block mailbox painted so it matches the new paint job on the house. I may clean the HEPA filter today also but that is going to be about it as far as working is concerned, our body needs a break.
