The weather in the region where I live can be entirely angry during the Summer weeks, then it’s hot, humid, and sticky all day June through July and the rest of the year is moderate and less humid and generally a much more comfortable temperature to live in, and a lot of people think I live the best life with the best weather down here, however that’s because they’re not here during the peak Summer season.

The humidity is so thick that it’s impossible to breathe and when you want to go outside, it’s angry, and summer is supposed to be a time where you can entertain outside and appreciate the sunshine, however that’s just not possible here.

I decided to change that this year because I hated not enjoying the outdoors. At the local hardware store, I found a portable a/c unit that was designed for enclosed outdoor spaces, which is exactly what I needed. Although it was classified as an a/c unit, it had 3 settings to choose from. It could cool, dehumidify the area and act as a fan. This was perfect for me! It also came with a small remote that would make it easy to change the settings; When I saw this portable a/c unit and all the lovely things it could do, I purchased it and brought it home. As soon as I walked through the door, I plugged it in and waited to feel the cool air. It didn’t take more than 30 minutes for me to believe the cool air and I was blissful!

There are moments when I wish for central heat and air simply for the luxury of having everything at an even and consistent temperature at all hours of the afternoon! For example, a central Heating and Air Conditioning system would heat and cool every room in the new home to the same temperature and it would run consistently. Anything below 69 degrees is just unnecessary, frigid and inefficient.

After listening to him complain about being too warm too many times though, we knew we needed to do something. As I said before, we couldn’t lower the temperature control anymore because it was inefficient, especially in the summertime time.we have a ceiling fan that we keep running all night, however that doesn’t give any cool air because it only pushes the warm air around! One day though, our partner approached me with an unusual idea. He wanted to install a window A/C machine next to his side of the bed in an attempt to get extra air. The window A/C machine would run off of electricity and it would keep his side of the room cool while we were in the mornings, my partner said that he would only run the window A/C machine when it was time for bed and I thought it sounded good, then before we bought a one though, I wanted to make sure it was definitely a good idea. I called our brother about the issue because he had a background in heating and air systems. He knew my partner’s problems and thought it was worth a shot. My partner was so excited to have the window A/C machine installed because he was looking forward to a cool night of sleep.
