My parents are both in their nineties plus in good health. They moved from the old farmhome into a ranch in the town a few years back. My hubby just bought a current boat that he has been wanting to buy for a long time.

• The boat is great plus my great friend and I spend lots of time together on it, however the best part about it is it’s heating, ventilation, plus A/C units.

The boat has an interior condo that has a small heating system plus a small air conditioning device in it. The heating system is basically a space heating system that is installed in the wall. The heating system works great even though it’s small because the boat’s condo isn’t particularly big. The miniature air conditioning device is awesome as well. When I first saw the air conditioning device I thought it was too small to do us any good, however that air conditioning device is surprisingly strong plus effective for its size! One of my favorite things about the boat is its little HVAC units. Unblessedly, my great friend and I started having some complications with the mini air conditioning unit, plus it started to make strange sounds… My pal and I took the air conditioning device to an HVAC repair shop to see if the HVAC company could repair it. The company said that there was a leak in the air conditioning unit’s coolant tank, then luckily, it was an straight-forward repair plus my great friend and I had our little air conditioning device back in the boat plus toiling in no time. Our heating system in the boat never had any complications other than when my great friend and I accidentally left it on all afternoon plus it overheated. Although the little air conditioning device plus heating system in our boat seem insignificant, they absolutely are a big help. It is amazing how just a little HVAC device can make such a big difference.

My sister has lived out of town for most of her adult life.

She married the ‘boy next door’, they purchased a home, and had two daughters.

Naturally, in order to see my extended family, it meant that I would need to travel there or they would need to travel here. So we’ve done it both ways. Most of the trips are made during college holidays for the sake of her children, plus for the sake of my getaway schedule. During the summer time getaway, they regularly come north to my home. Their summers in the south are sweltering. And even though our northern summers seem hot enough for our liking, they all suppose that our weather conditions is cool, and our house has central a/c, plus ceiling fans. I’ve noticed that once our dwelling has four more bodies in it, the a/c and ceiling fans are running much more steadily than normal. I got to thinking about the reason for this. Once I googled the question ‘how much heat does one human body emit?’, I ended up learning about Btu’s and what that means for central a/c. One Heating and Air Conditioning website stated that “on average, a sedentary person will add 500 Btu’s per hour to a home, whether it’s hot or chilly outside”. In addition, if people are using PCs, lights, etc., there are extra Btu’s to consider. Once I understood the reason for the non-stop running of the a/c and fans, I started thinking about the added cost to my utility bill. I’m no Scrooge, even though I am careful of how my money is being spent – or wasted. In the end, I decided to adjust my thermostat by one degree – warmer, that is. I figured that these southerners were used to the heat anyway!

Our home isn’t legitimately big, only around fifteen hundred square feet.

And it is fairly modern plus well-insulated. Our boiler plus central a/c do a fantastic task of heating plus cooling the house. There’s one small problem that I’ve noticed, however. If we close the doors of the three family rooms, which are located at the farthest distance from the heating plus cooling units, those rooms don’t gain as much of the heat and/or cool air. My nice friend and I are empty nesters, but our animal is like having another child – mainly because we dote on him so much. If we leave him in the house when we go away, we shut the family room doors to prevent him from jumping on the beds plus getting his fur on the comforters. But when we arrive home, the family rooms are significantly cooler in the winter season plus warmer in the Summer than the rest of the house. I remember when we had the house built, the builder discussed that the sitement of the heating/cooling unit in the basement would determine its efficiency in reaching each of the rooms of the house. My nice friend and I discussed the pros plus cons of placing the units closer to the main residing area of the home. Bedrooms, he explained, are constantly not as important, as ceiling fans in the Summer plus blankets in the winter season will compensate for any inefficiency. I now wonder if we let him talk us into a disappointing decision. I even called another Heating plus A/C supplier to discuss the situation; He explained that the ideal location of the boiler/a/c unit is one where there is a supply of natural gas, an exhaust vent, plus fresh air circulation. His explanation made much more sense than that of the original builder.
