I just do not do well when there are high hot plus cold temperatures, plus I definitely should transfer up north somewhere where it doesn’t get as hot… Up until this point in my life, though, I have just not made any immense moves like that plus I don’t know that I ever will; then now that I am getting older, maybe I will start liking the heat more than I have previously.

The air conditioning unit just couldn’t really keep up with the demand over the weekend last week. It got so sizzling outside that I was miserable for the most part for the entire weekend! Sometimes I also wonder why I even live here because it truly gets sizzling here during the summer. I just do not do well when there are high hot plus cold temperatures, plus I definitely should transfer up north somewhere where it doesn’t get as hot… Up until this point in my life, though, I have just not made any immense moves like that plus I don’t know that I ever will; then now that I am getting older, maybe I will start liking the heat more than I have previously. I know a lot of older people end up moving south because they like the high hot plus cold temperatures down there, so maybe it will turn out to be the same way for me plus I can continue to stay here, however as it is right now, I will also continue to keep on using the air conditioning in my house on full blast throughout the sizzling summer time months… Last weekend though, it was simply crazy. It is not ever this sizzling during the Springtime around here, so everyone was pretty surprised that my friend and I had such high hot plus cold temperatures. I think that is why the air conditioning was unable to keep up with the demand that I was putting on it! My friend and I haven’t had our usual yearly air conditioning tune up yet because it’s so early in the season. Hopefully the air conditioning tune up will finally get everything running smoothly with the HVAC unit.

At this hotel my friend and I stayed the other night, the air conditioning kept turning off every two hours; it wasn’t so poor when my friend and I were awake, however after my friend and I went to sleep, it became truly annoying as well… I kept waking up every time the air conditioning turned off.

I love having pale white noise while I am sleeping, plus so when it turns off suddenly, it makes me wake up with a jolt.

I can’t sleep whenever there is total silence, plus that is exactly what kept on happening while my friend and I were at the hotel. I am also not going to lie about it either. It truly does annoy me how I can spend so much money for one single night in a hotel room plus then the air conditioning keeps me from even getting one nice night’s sleep! I was more than a little miffed about the whole thing when I got up the following day plus then went down for breakfast in the lobby. I told the employer at the front desk of the hotel about the concerns with the air conditioning plus he said that there was not anything that he could do about it, but he truly commiserates with me plus told me that he hated the new air conditioning also. He said that everyone who came into the hotel complained about it, however the sole owners of the hotel had decided corporately that that was the direction that they were going as far as the eco-friendly movement goes, and everyone hates it, however that is the way it is from now on. I hope other hotels do not follow in their footsteps, though!

I’m just over it already. This week’s workday is moving at a snail’s pace as I try to write with blurred vision. My vision wasn’t blurry enough to miss this really attractive man passing by on my way back from the beach this afternoon. It’s amazing how a guy’s beauty can captivate you and jar your mind. I am still trying to shake the image of him so I can get back to work, but it’s etched in my mind and will stay there for a long time! Cooling my mind down so I can get back to work is essential, and nothing beats writing Heating and Air Conditioning stories for hours to get the image of the attractive man out of my head. I can’t write these stories while daydreaming about him, so I’ll just let him go and get back to work like the wonderful worker bee that I am. Who knows, maybe she’ll come into the Heating and Air Conditioning shop one afternoon looking for a HEPA filter or something, even though he is way out of my league, so I do not have to worry about anything coming out of that meeting. Besides, if he dated me, I’d be a nervous wreck all the time, fearful that he’d dump me for someone better. I’ll just do my work at the local shop and life will go on, even if I never see that pretty ghost again. Anyway, I’m going to get something to eat, and my friend and I will meet up again in another story.

I’ve had this flu thing for a few afternoons now, and as I type, I notice my vision is blurrier than usual.

I’m guessing it’s because of the virus, and hopefully the blurriness will go away once it’s gone.

My right eye is much worse than my left, despite the fact that I also have astigmatism in that eye, which could be exacerbated by the flu. I hope that is the case and that my vision hasn’t gotten any worse in the last few afternoons of my life; if so, a trip to the local business to get my eyeah checked is in order. I also need to have my teeth checked because I’m having dental issues. As my heating tech neighbor pointed out, I need to start taking better care of myself and slowing down a bit so my body doesn’t wear out. I have been extremely hard on this body, and I am amazed that it is still functioning after 56 years on the planet, especially given all of the skydiving landing accidents I had when I was swooping for a living. The local corporation was also a swooper who died in a swooping accident, and if you don’t know what swooping is, take a look on YouTube and you’ll see why my body has a lot of miles on it. My colleague and I used to swoop not only on water but also on land, which was where the pain with rough landings came from. Now I only do heating and air conditioning repairs and service, and I’ve retired from swooping.

Things can be tough especially at night. I just hate that it is a struggle when you have a sore throat or anything. I was starving last night as I tried to sleep, but I didn’t want to eat because my throat hurt so much. I finally gave in and ate a banana, which didn’t seem to bother my throat as much because I chewed it thoroughly. After that, I was able to fall asleep and stay asleep for several hours. I think I slept for about nine hours last night, and today I’m feeling a little better, but my throat still hurts and I’m exhausted. I should be feeling better in time for my Heating and Air Conditioning technician to come this weekend, though I’m not sure if I’ll be well enough for him to stay here in my weather-controlled flat without risking catching what I have. So I think I’ll tell him to come visit, but to stay in a hotel near where I live so he doesn’t have to be in this germ-infested flat. I just hope my cooling rep roommate doesn’t catch what I have because I’ll feel terrible if he does, but all I can do is stay quarantined and away from him for the next few afternoons while I’m contagious. I’m staying in my office most of the time and doing my work to avoid being around him too much, which appears to be working so far because he’s still feeling fine. I bought some fantastic kefir from a local shop and am using it to argue this point.

I haven’t been sick in a long time, so I believe this flu or whatever I have is a necessary cleanse and test of my immunity.

I ran myself to exhaustion last weekend, and I believe that is how I got this nasty bug.

This makes me thankful for my health, because being sick is unpleasant, drains your energy, and makes you feel lifeless. I normally have a lot of energy, and I think this cold will force me to make some changes in my life. My cooling rep advised me to stop drinking beer for a while to allow my immune system to strengthen, and I believe I will heed his advice and refrain from drinking for a while in order to focus on my Heating and Air Conditioning tech work. I don’t drink that much, though I have noticed that it is more than I was drinking a few years ago, so it is time to break the habit and quit completely, but working on HVAC duct, especially in the summer when it is really hot out, can take a lot of energy and if you are hungover from drinking, it doesn’t help the situation and makes your Heating and Air Conditioning labor that much more unpleasant. This cold, I believe, was necessary to assist me in making changes in my life so that it is moving in a better direction than it was. Everything happens for a reason, as the old HEPA filter worker would say, and my friend and I should always strive to be better versions of ourselves in the process.

I really don’t like getting sick but with this flu bug, I’m slowly waking up and starting my workday.

• I don’t have much energy to do anything else, so it’s a little easier because I have the entire afternoon to focus on this work.

I can take breaks when my eyes are tired and just do the labor slowly, and it will be finished by the time night falls. I have a flexible schedule and can work whenever I want, so I can just plug away and do my work, and it will get done on its own. My main concern with this flu is indoor air quality because I don’t want the germs spreading into my flatmate’s room and making him sick, so I’m running my whole house air purifying system all the time and hoping that the HEPA filter in it will disconnect any bad stuff in the air so it doesn’t reach his room. That is the worst, being sick and then passing it on to your lover or roommate, so keeping germs to a minimum is my top priority as I try to get rid of this cold. My cooling and heating company’s owner is supposed to come visit me in three afternoons, and I’m hoping I’ll be feeling better by then so my friend and I can hang out for a couple of afternoons. Let’s see how strong my immune system is and if it can heal me in time to see a really great friend. I’m going to clean my HEPA filter again right now.

I awoke to a pleasant surprise with my stock this afternoon, which had made $850 at one point but is now down to $485.

• It is all a game of options, and it still doesn’t change the fact that I’m down $100,000, so don’t be too jealous.

Who knows what this vehicle business will end up doing, but they did get a loan for $100 million today to ramp up production, so maybe this is the start of my claim. If the business succeeds, it will take me two or three years to reclaim that currency. However, heating and cooling system labor will be on the agenda until then, as I will be working as a Heating and Air Conditioning technician for a local business. I don’t mind working for a few more years and waiting for this investment to pay off because I don’t need the currency right now. My mini split air conditioner kept me comfortable last night, but I’m sick with the flu and have a high fever. I’m sleeping about 12 hours a night to help my body kick this thing, and I have four more afternoons to get better before my neighbor comes to visit. She works for a cooling company and is attending a Heating and Air Conditioning system convention in another town. She plans to visit me if I improve in four or five afternoons. I’ve had this thing for three afternoons now, and I can feel it shifting around in my body as my immune system tries to get rid of it.

That is what my grandfather called it when he took an hour nap in the afternoon followed by going to bed at 7 p.m.

some afternoons so he could get a good night’s sleep. That guy liked to sleep, I will tell you, but what a cool life he had in the end with his lake apartment and a slew of parties and fun. He lived on the lake and fished almost every afternoon, which provided the family with more than enough fried fish brunches. My grandfather worked in the cooling industry when he was younger, retiring at the age of 54 as a Heating and Air Conditioning rep and living the retired life for 35 years before dying at the age of 89. He had six children and a slew of friends who paid him regular visits, which made me wonder if I was living the right life without children. My cooling expert neighbor stated that some people are split up for kids, but those who are not but have them are not always thrilled with the freedom they give up. I play the drums and sing in a band, and I don’t think I’d have the time or energy to do so if I was constantly working and raising a bunch of kids. Anyway, today I’m going to the heating corporation store to see if they have any smart temperature controls in stock because mine is almost done and needs to be replaced.

My energy is coming in waves as my body tries to fight off the flu infection I have.

I’ll have bursts of energy followed by periods of exhaustion that make me want to crawl into bed and sleep for hours.

Maybe I’ll write two more articles and then take a nap to recharge before doing the final 30 minutes of work for the afternoon. Fortunately, I don’t have to go to work for 10 hours in an office and suffer with this cold while staring at the clock waiting for 6 p.m. When I was working as an engineer for this large Heating and Air Conditioning company in the afternoons, my desk job was to manufacture air conditioners and boilers. I was making a lot of money, but I didn’t enjoy being cooped up in a cubicle all afternoon staring at texts and writing reports… Heating and cooling systems are necessary in this world, even though I will let someone else do the work while I enjoy my freedom and independence. I moved overseas more than two years ago to pursue music and comedy and have never regretted my decision. I just miss my mom and his gas fireplace while my friend and I hang out and talk about life, even though I can’t cling to my mom forever and need to live my own life because he’ll be gone one afternoon. That is going to be a difficult pill to swallow, but I believe I will eventually learn to live without him. I wish you the very best of luck.

I need to gather the strength to finish these stories today because I’m feeling a little under the weather and finding it difficult to keep going.

But I’ll figure it out, and then I’ll be able to lie down on my sofa and melt into the cushions.

I just ate some soup with pasta, and it feels good to have some food in my stomach after being unable to eat anything due to a sore throat. I have about an hour of labor left with heating and cooling system stories, and then I can relax for the rest of the afternoon and play with my cats if I want. I also need to do my 15-minute yoga routine because my body is extremely sore and it would be great for my muscles and joints to transfer a little. I skipped yoga yesterday, instead opting for a trip to the local business to get some medicine to help me get through this illness, then this week is Saturday and I feel by Thursday I will be almost 100% again, even though I will need to rest a lot to make that happen because my body needs energy to fight this cold. I have a cooling representative neighbor coming to see me on Thursday, so I need to be better by then so my pal and I can work on my Heating and Air Conditioning system and get it ready for the upcoming summer season. The weather is getting warmer, and it won’t be long before I’m running the air conditioner all afternoon.

My mom was the best and some of the things she used to say were always things I would remember.

My mother used to say “totally rinsed” when explaining how something is shot or done.

For example, if he was exhausted from a long afternoon of water skiing, he would say, “ahh, I’m totally rinsed,” or if someone was overjoyed about something, they were “totally rinsed.” You never hear that and I’m not sure where the saying came from, even though I feel I’ll never know because Mom died two years ago and the secret is locked up for eternity, and but if you feel so inclined, you can use the saying too! Heating and air conditioning system cleaning is my afternoon task, and I am confident that by the time I get home from working on the heating system all afternoon, I will be completely rinsed. I really miss my grandfather, and I still can’t believe he won’t return one afternoon, but death is eternal, and I’ll have to accept it one afternoon. He spent most of his life working in the heating industry, doing a lot of heating system tune-ups and building a very successful business in the process. I am now a musician and am glad I chose this path in life because it gives me a lot of joy to make music and perform for people. Who knows where it will lead me, though I am sure it will be more rewarding than cleaning HVAC ducts all afternoon for the cooling corporation, which is what I was doing before switching gears to music.
