This summer, I invested in a smart thermostat since everyone seemed to be advising it.

Every member of my family upgraded from their old conventional thermostat to a smart one.

My smart thermostat was giving me problems and wasn’t functioning the way everyone else’s did, which was a problem. This was my personal experience, and it wasn’t operating correctly. I would set it to a particular temperature, but it didn’t seem to have any impact. This really perplexed me because, in accordance with everyone else and my instruction manual, I should have been able to work without any issues, but that wasn’t my experience. Instead of relying solely on my thermostat, I began to wonder if perhaps my heating or air conditioning system was having problems. As a result, I made the decision to call my neighborhood heating and air conditioning company to come out and take a look to see if they could figure out what was wrong. I was really hoping that it wasn’t my heating or air conditioning system because, if I didn’t have to, I didn’t want to have to pay a repair fee to have it fixed. When the heating and air conditioning technician arrived, he examined it and informed me that the smart thermostat wasn’t operating properly and didn’t need to be replaced. I then returned my smart thermostat to the store where I had bought it, and I had to pay for a new one. When the new one was installed, it functioned perfectly. Really, the only one I had that wasn’t functioning properly was that one. The best news was that my heating and air conditioning system was in excellent condition.

The mere fact that I can’t figure out my new thermostat makes me feel extremely embarrassed.

I purchased a smart thermostat because everyone raved about it, but I must admit that I’ve been struggling to figure out how to make it function properly.

There are simply too many buttons to choose from! It’s just a little bit overwhelming at times, and it’s a lot more complicated than my dial thermostat. I don’t get how this new technology is supposed to make things simpler, but in some ways, I feel like it just complicates things. Personally, I believe that my old dial thermostat was better because it served the same purpose. I don’t need my thermostat to be smart, I just need it to function as a thermostat. After receiving the smart thermostat as a gift from my granddaughter, who described it as the cutting-edge in heating and cooling technology, I installed it. Up until the point where I actually tried to use it, that sounded nice. She assisted me in setting it up, and as she did so I realized how easy it had actually been. I don’t know how she did it, but she breezed through the setup procedure like it was nothing. However, even after it had been set up, I was unable to operate it. I told her that I wanted my old dial thermostat back, and she assisted me in making that happen. She came in handy, and I’m glad she did because I would have had to hire a heating and cooling technician who wouldn’t have been necessary.

We’re about to enter the summer months, and since I live in a region where it can get quite hot during the hottest parts of the summer, I wanted to make sure that my air conditioning system was in great working order. Because of how hot it was during the summer, I can still clearly recall the last time I neglected to have my air conditioning system serviced. Because of it, I was perspiring constantly. I’ll never forget waking up in the middle of the night because I neglected to have my air conditioner serviced and my bed sheets were wet from all the perspiration I was producing. The temperature in the house must have been close to 90 degrees, it was insane! It was far too hot, and I knew there was no way I could handle it. I decided to work toward having my air conditioning system repaired and fixed as soon as possible. And I wish I had my air conditioning system fixed because it’s a good thing and I want to have my cool air back, but I also have it fixed because it’s really good for the AC system and it will last much longer if it is properly taken care of. I’m going to schedule now that my air conditioning system is working, but I’ll never forget how poorly it performed the year before. I’ll make sure to have it properly serviced and tuned up to avoid waking up on someone like that because I don’t want it to happen again.

About two months ago, when I noticed that my heating and cooling costs were significantly higher than they usually were and I was unable to determine why, I first realized I had a problem.

I’ve had great success with my gas furnace heating system

Most of the time these days, I am a slacker. My job and everything at home is included in that. My HVAC system began to suffer neglect. I believe that by neglecting my heating and air conditioning system over the past few months, I’ve been making a serious error. I’m sorry if this sounds bad, but I just didn’t think it was that significant. Since I hardly ever use my air conditioner, why should I be concerned about maintaining it? I do have air conditioning, after all, but I hardly ever use it. Really, I’m not even sure why I have it. The heating system, however, is a slightly different story and makes more sense because I constantly use mine. Since I live in a cold climate and need high-quality heat to avoid freezing in the winter, I constantly use my heating system. As a result, I try to take good care of my heating system and have it serviced and tuned up frequently, but I don’t really give my air conditioning much thought. Last summer when my air conditioner malfunctioned, I didn’t even bother trying to fix it because a fan would have been sufficient to keep my house cool and I wouldn’t be willing to pay an additional repair fee. I’ve had great success with my gas furnace heating system. The efficiency, durability, and rarity of breakdowns are what I adore about a gas furnace, making it the ideal genius system in my opinion. My one friend is always giving me things to try or things I should do.

I admitted that I was initially very skeptical when a friend of mine suggested that I try a smart thermostat this morning.

The idea of having a smart thermostat initially made me dubious. I mean, I’ve got a regular Dial thermostat that’s done me just fine for the past few months. Is a smart thermostat really necessary? Why should I purchase a smart thermostat instead of sticking with my existing, perfectly functional items? What makes them so special that I should purchase one. That is all well and good, but perhaps I’m just being cynical, but I don’t see the point in adjusting the temperature in my home using my phone when I can simply go there and turn the dial. But after my friend told me about the smart success, I made up my mind to give it a shot eventually. She gave me a free smart thermostat, and although I must admit I was a little hesitant, I couldn’t refuse a free thermostat. I had to try it, for that reason. I used it for about a week before switching back to my dial thermostat because, as I previously stated, I am just old-fashioned.

I recently bought a smart thermostat and I am in love with it. I had no idea that it was possible to control your home’s temperature remotely, but it is, and it works great. Why haven’t I found this amazing technology so much earlier? Do you really mean to tell me that I’ve had the choice to regulate my indoor temperatures from the convenience of my phone all this time and I’m just now learning about it? I still find it hard to believe I didn’t realize this earlier. The absurd thing is that I also discovered it by accident. I went to my neighborhood heating and air conditioning company because I needed a new air filter, and that is how it all began. I bought disposable air filters, but they were all completely used up. I used up all of the disposable air filters in my house, and since I replaced my old filter with a new air filter, I only had one disposable air filter left. This one is attached to my heating and cooling system, and it was filthy and grimy. It was wonderful to have a new air filter installed in my HVAC system. I was anticipating how much better my Android would be. I saw smart thermostats being advertised while I was at the heating and air conditioning store, and I remarked that they could connect to the Wi-Fi. Because I was unaware that you could connect your smart thermostat to Wi-Fi, when I first threw this, I was genuinely shocked. You can do this from the convenience of your home, giving you easy access to controlling the temperatures inside.

For the last six weeks, my family and I had been planning a surprise 90th birthday party for our mom. We were all surprised when she told us she had never had a birthday party, and we wanted her to have one before it was too late. She was living with my sister and had mom helping with some of the cooking. She fabricated a story about catering her best friend’s birthday party and help mom helping her. My wife and I were getting the cake, and we were all going to meet at my brother’s house and surprise mom. We had over seventy-five guests invited, and everything set up when I realized my yard was soggy and it hadn’t rained in over a week. I immediately realized I had a sewer problem and I had to call the plumber. When I got on the phone, I told him I had an emergency sewer line repair. I had to have it done by 4 PM because I was having a surprise birthday party for my mom. By 3 PM, I was sure the plumber was going to be late. I called my sisters and brother and told them the party was delayed by a half hour because of sewer line repairs. My older sister asked if we wanted to waylay the guests to her house, but we didn’t have time. Some people were travelling an hour to the party, and we couldn’t change their plans mid-trip. It took the plumber a little more than an hour to fix the sewer line, but it was going to takemuch longer for the yard to dry up. We ended up having the party inside, which was better, because it soon started raining.

I had the dumb idea of cleaning my own ductwork. My husband got me a pole with different ends on it for my birthday. I have an end that is a poof that is meant for taking down webs. I have an end that can wash windows, dust ceiling fans and clean corners in the ceiling. I used my ceiling fan dusting end and figured it could serve as a ductwork cleaning tool. I noticed webs on my vent covers. I knew inside the ducts had to be icky. I took down all the vent covers and shoved my pole up in there. I really went to town scrubbing. I felt so accomplished when I saw the gunk that came off on my end. I really was proud of myself until a few days later. I noticed my AC just never turned off. It kept running and running but the house was hot. I called a HVAC company and the guy told me I must have messed up with my ductwork since my system was fine. I then called a ductwork company who informed me that my duct had a tear along a seam. Apparently while I was cleaning the ducts I was too harsh and popped a seam. He then performed ductwork sealing in order to patch the hole for me. While he was there the guy showed me the inside of my ducts. I was shocked to see it was filthy. My pole didn’t get really deep in the ductwork. I only cleaned an inch or two inside. I am never going to clean that myself again.

My husband is always looking for homes for sale. He really likes the idea of getting rich quickly with real estate. He is on the hunt for single family homes, rental properties, duplexes and commercial real estate for sale. I know in an ideal world he would purchase a mini storage facility. He wants to be a commercial real estate owner. The benefits of commercial real estate is that he wouldn’t have to deal with a typical renter. If you owned a storefront and rented that out, a business owner is a lot different than someone living there full time. They typically treat the property better, pay on time and are a higher class of people. I know with mini storage it is appealing to my husband since there isn’t a lot of upkeep involved. He wouldn’t need to hire a property manager, handyman or contractor. What repairs are needed for a storage facility? As long as water, rodents and roots don’t get in, everything is good. The facility should pay back for itself in a few years. Right now our town has two mini storage places. The one is giant and has almost 30 units that are rented out. It is way too big for just my husband at this point. The other one only had 10 units and is a bit more manageable. The people are working way too much for their facility however. They want more money than they make with the rentals. That is just ridiculous. So it doesn’t look good for my husband at this point.

Our granddaughter owned a house that belonged to her father-in-law.

The minute my husband walked in, he told her there was no way he was going to allow her to take our great-grandsons into the house.

Whoever had hung the ceiling lights had them plugged into electrical cords that were part of extension cords. Duct tape held together everything together, and the wood stove in the living had duct tape wrapped around the pipe to keep it together. He told her the first thing she was going to get was an electrician. She needed an electrician before moving in. My husband was an electrician by trade, but he had been retired for so long that he wasn’t sure he knew all the electrical codes and he wanted our grandsons to be safe. He called a friend who was still working as an electrician and asked him if he would come to the house and look at the electrical system. When Pete walked into the house, his mouth dropped open. He said there were more electrical problems in this house than there were mouse droppings, and they were all over the counters and floors. He said he could redo the electrical system, but it was on our granddaughter to hire an exterminator and get the woodwork repaired. There were holes everywhere that the rodents had chewed. If it had been up to my husband and his friend Pete, they would have burned the house down and rebuilt it from scratch. I couldn’t believe her father-in-law thought this house was habitable, especially for his grandchildren.

My daughter told everyone that I told her to go to school, so I didn’t need to pay an online marketing agent. I didn’t say she had to be an online marketing agent. I told her I thought she should go to school for online marketing, which is a good job to get into. Many people are now working from home, and if you’re set up with an online marketing company, you can name your specialty and do everything you enjoy doing. She loves working with social media and building websites. I jokingly told her that if she went to school for computer marketing, I could get all my HVAC marketing done for free, as a way for her to pay me back for school. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t really want her to pay me back. Sending your kids to college is part of being a parent. You want them to have a better education than what we have. You want your children to get further ahead in life than we did. I know I will pay her for her work if he creates an HVAC website for me. I’ll also be happy if she can do some social media marketing for me. Social media ads are the best if you know how to use them. Once my daughter goes to school, she’ll be able to do anything I would like her to do. I won’t pay her as much as I would if I were going to an online marketing company, but she is my daughter, and not an employee; at least not yet.
