I panicked when my HVAC system stopped toiling.
I contacted the local HVAC supplier immediately and advised an emergency appointment, however they had an HVAC professional at my door within an hour.
I told him how my HVAC system had quickly stopped toiling, and he had a list of questions for me. He asked me when the last time I’d had the HVAC system serviced and I couldn’t think of the date. I’d never had it serviced by a professional before, and I didn’t know when the previous owners of the home had. Then, the HVAC professional asked me how ancient the HVAC system was, then again, I couldn’t provide him an answer because I didn’t know, next, he asked me when the air filter was last changed. This I did know! I told him it was 6 months ago, right before the cooler weather arrived and I switched from my cooling system to my heater. He looked at me in silence for a few moments and I felt like a complete failure. I knew he was judging me for my lack of HVAC servicing, however I never thought I’d be in this predicament. I showed him where everything was located and he got to work. He serviced my HVAC system for one hour before finding me and telling me the bad news! My HVAC system was completely dead and it would cost more to service it than to buy a up-to-date HVAC system. He provided me a recommendation on where to get a up-to-date one and told me that if I didn’t want this to happen again, I’d need to take care of the device this time. I felt so embarrassed.
