It’s weird for me to have my parents living just around the corner.
But it’s weird in a good way.
I love my folks & they’ve been nothing but charming to me my entire life. But it’s been a long time since my good friend and I lived in the same neighborhood much less right around the corner from each other. In fact, I haven’t lived this close to my parents since I went to college. But they were awesome & raised me in a property with good central air conditioner & many other amenities. So it’s an honor to return the favor these days & kind of help them out as they are now in their late seventies. My Dad & dad just couldn’t handle a large property up north anymore. The winter was too intense & they were sick of paying to have a gas boiler run night & afternoon. So I convinced them to transfer down south near us. And it’s been an adventure so far. They’ve only been here about eight months after I found them a home they can afford on a hockey course. My dad likes to get outside & swing the hockey clubs even if she isnot real good anymore. But she isalso a real stubborn woman that enjoys to be undoubtedly independent, then she also just didn’t trust the heat pump that came with the condo. And I knew eventually, I was going to get a phone call from my Dad that she was splitting into the residential Heating & Air Conditioning. Sure enough, I got that phone call last monthand got over there just in time to stop him from making a big mistake. All it took was me learning the Heating & Air Conditioning warranty aloud to him. Once she heard that she would void the warranty, she packed up her tools.
