I really hate spending money on things, even money on myself.
I would rather save up for emergencies or invest in my future. So when it comes to things I would like, I try to find the best deal possible. Even when it came to my wedding ring, I told my husband he better not spend more than $100 on the ring, and even that was expensive in my opinion, for a shiny rock. However, there are some high quality things I realized I need, or otherwise I was going to be miserable. One was a high quality rocking chair. After a day of hard work, one of my favorite things to do is sit in my favorite rocking chair and just relax. Cheap chairs I have gotten in the past would either break or squeak really badly, no matter how many times I would oil them. With high quality furniture, you won’t have this problem. The second thing is high quality heating and cooling. Having high quality HVAC means that your home will feel fantastic year round, no matter the season. I am so tired of being overheated or freezing cold, so my husband and I invested in a high quality air conditioner and heating unit. We have not regretted the decision at all. It may have cost a lot of money in the short term, but it is a big investment that will last for years to come.
