I wasn’t sure just what to do when my fears about the HVAC equipment were confirmed.

This was my first house buying experience and I tried really hard to follow up on all the details when it came to my due diligence.

When it came to the heating and cooling equipment, I knew that there would need to be upgrades. But what I didn’t realize was that the ductwork was out of date and needed to be replaced. The central air conditioning in this house has been in place for maybe fifty years or more. And it shows. Of course, the gas furnace and the heat pump have been replaced several times I imagine. But the ductwork was rather rudimentary at best. There weren’t many air ducts when it came to the ventilation. Additionally, it was pretty clear that the ductwork itself was so old that it wasn’t repairable at all. The HVAC contractor confirmed all of this when he came out to inspect and discuss the HVAC upgrade. I had the option of going with ductless heat pumps throughout the house. And that’s a fine option. However, I really had my heart set on having central air conditioning along with the latest in HVAC technology. Fortunately, the ductwork could be replaced without too much chaos and problems. So I opted to go with that. The HVAC professionals were great and it took them less time to replace all the ductwork and add onto the central air conditioning. I’m now the proud owner of the best quality heating and air I could have ever asked for.

I’ve been having to do a lot more cleaning this year than usual.

I think it’s because my kids have been playing a lot of outdoor sports and dragging in a lot of dirt.

We also have two dogs that come in and out of the backyard throughout the day. It’s inevitable that I’m going to have a dirty house if I don’t keep it clean on a daily basis. This is an ongoing process for me and always an ongoing struggle. We split up chores when I was a kid and I always hated cleaning indoors. I prefer doing outdoor work with my dad such as raking leaves or mowing the lawn. It’s bad to do that with your kids because then you’ve got children growing up only with a limited set of skills. So I’ve had to learn to clean since becoming an adult. A lot of it means ongoing maintenance too. Like changing the filters in my ear pierced for instance. I have to remember to do this at least once every 3 to 6 months because they get clogged with dust. Once the air purifiers get clogged with dust they quit working as well. Now my air purifiers are finally pulling contaminants out of my indoor air again. The old filters were clogged way past the point that they should have been. That’s my fault for not checking the air purifier filter sooner and letting them get as bad as they got. Each time I need to buy some air purifier filters and have them on hand for the next time I need to change them out.

When I met my wife we were just two college students.

We still had a lot of years left ahead of us before we had any idea what we were going to do for the rest of our lives.

But unlike some people, we grew closer together instead of growing further apart. We ended up working in the same industry fairly quickly. She wanted to go into graphic design while I became a musician. However, she ended up being a graphic designer for bands mostly. So we’re both effectively in the music industry. A lot of people think there’s no money to be made in the music industry, but there is if you’re flexible with the amount of work and type of work you’re willing to take. We are surely happy with our incomes and we also make enough money to enjoy our life together. We also tend to get along well compared to some couples. I know one thing that helps is we both prefer the same temperature preferences in the house. Just like me, my wife likes to sleep in a cold environment. She likes the room cold and the bed cold with a fan blowing most of the time. I am largely the same way, so we both like to turn the air conditioning down low during the evening hours. This is what makes us feel the best. There are a lot of couples who have different preferences when it comes to HVAC settings, especially when they sleep. I’m happy that my wife and I both like to have the same HVAC settings.

We just got our business cards for our band and we are going to start getting them out there for our Soundcloud page. We just made a good song about money and are going to play again later today and maybe make some new songs. Our goal is to have 50 songs by the end of the year and from them cut an album of about 15 songs. We need to decide which songs are the best ones and then work on the album, which will go online on several different sites and then we move on. Heating up in the summer, the weather really brings in the tourists so we can play at air conditioned beach bars this summer and be on our way to bigger and better things hopefully. I think by the time I hit my 20 year mark of entertaining we can have some good stuff going on with the band, which will be in October of 2025. My HVAC rep said it comes down to fate as to whether I can leave my job at the heating supplier and hit the big time with the band. Maybe it is already determined and I just have to go through the motions to see if fate is on my side with the music venture, I really don’t know but I do know that I have fun making music and playing drums so why not do it for the sake of that? The cooling corp will always be there for me as people will always need air conditioning in their homes.

Today is going to be a big chill beach day and I want to get out there by about 4pm, or half past the hour at the latest, so I can get a good spot in the sand.

The nice part about living in this town is I don’t have to try and find a parking space for my car like I do back home in the States.

That was such a pain about living back home that I grew tired of the hassle and decided I was done with the rat race of chasing the American Dream. Air conditioning is not as much of a necessity as back in the States where I lived in the south, requiring the use of a/c almost all year round. I can hop on my bike and be at the beach in the sand within about three minutes. Back home it would take me about 45 minutes of driving and then after I got a parking spot it would take me ten more minutes to walk to the beach. Anyway, I just ordered a mini split a/c unit for $240 for my bedroom so I don’t freeze my flatmate out each night as I run the cooling unit for the whole flat just to cool my small bedroom. So I am hoping that this unit saves me money each month and pays for itself over maybe two summers or so. I figure I can save $40 a month on my air conditioning bills by running this much smaller cooling unit compared to the big central cooling system.

After my pal and I sold our condo in order to build this one, my pal and I had to live in an house for a year, and i just couldn’t face another Summer in that apartment.

It’s a nice enough locale however the a/c situation was just awful, then that would have everything to do with the fact that the residential Heating, Ventilation, and A/C in that locale was ancient. In fact, I looked all over the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device and couldn’t even find a SEER rating. That’s pretty much unheard of, but somehow, they keep that aged Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device running… My spouse and I sweltered through last Summer as the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C component just couldn’t get close to matching the cooling demand. That’s not the case this year; Our condo is finished. And thanks to the awesome Heating, Ventilation, and A/C business my pal and I found to install our residential Heating, Ventilation, and A/C, my pal and I are going to be so amazingly comfortable. My associate and I had to find just the right Heating, Ventilation, and A/C professional for our residential Heating, Ventilation, and A/C. That’s because my pal and I wanted someone with direct experience when it comes to installing a geothermal heat pump. The upgrade is much more complicated than a traditional heat pump, then so my pal and I wanted to be sure that my pal and I found someone with both the knowledge and experience it took to get this right. It’s still May so the a/c isn’t on all the time, then however, we’ve had it on a few times while in the peak heating hours of the day. And wow, the cooling comfort from the geo heat pump is incredible. It won’t be long now before the condo is all sealed up for Summer and that geothermal heat pump is earning its keep.

I swear, the depths of desperation seem to get only deeper when it comes to what people are willing to do for a dollar. I actually swim at a community pool where my enjoyable friend and I all pay dues for unlimited access to the pool. This little spot also has a workout room that is air conditioned. I help out around the pool in an effort to supply back a bit. And that includes straightening up the locale after an night swim. I observed that various dumbbells and weight unit were disappearing from the a/c of the little labor out room. Sure enough, a member was stealing them. I mean, these are not high dollar items however rather old in fact. Still, I found them online being sold for literally dollars. And these people have enjoyable tasks! I was beyond disappointed and a bit stunned. But then again, I have had to put a reinforced steel cage over the Heating as well as Air Conditioning cupboard that sits outside my home. There is a trend that has finished making up recently where thieves are ripping apart this piece of residential Heating as well as Air Conditioning unit to get to the copper fittings. Again, my enjoyable friend and I are talking about handfuls of copper that is then sold on the black market for pennies on the dollar. Yet, this type of burglary leaves in its wake thousands of dollars in heating and cooling unit completely destroyed. I hate to sound like some whining old lady. But I’m just getting more and more sad at what I’m seeing from people. I hate that there are people in situations or with mindsets that stealing is somehow justified.

Having a family member who is a celebrity can change your whole life.

In 2020, my sister began posting makeup tutorials and dances on TikTok.

It was all for fun since we were stuck at home during the lockdown. This is when the app really took off, and many people found new careers. My sister had been working as a waitress before the pandemic. She was laid off in April 2020 and stuck at home. So, for fun, she started doing the videos and I helped with shooting content. Slowly, her channel took off, and by 2021, she had almost 500000 followers. Brand deals came along, and money flowed from her job. However, the other side of fame was we started feeling unsafe in our home, and chose to relocate. Our parents wanted us to find a safe place to stay, so we looked at this private beach community. The house we purchased was amazing, in a private gated community, but it needed a new heat pump. When we moved in, we thought the heat pump was in good condition. However, after a week of using it, we realized it was faulty. Mom contacted a HVAC business for assistance and they sent over an HVAC tech to take a look. He confirmed we needed a new heat pump, so we went with the best unit. Once we purchased the heat pump, the HVAC tech came back to install it in our new beach house. My brother is a popular DJ.

We are about 15 years apart, and I have always looked up to him.

He is technically my step brother, but we never call each other that. He is my brother, and has been looking out for me from the day I was born. When I was a toddler, our parents gifted him a DJ set, and he began practicing. He got so good that he started doing gigs like kids parties. He’d get paid for his work, and save the money for more gear. When I was 10, he was already doing professional gigs in town. He introduced me officially to being a DJ, and would teach me a few things about his world. In high school, I’d DJ a bit, but I knew I wanted a different career. So, after graduating, I went to a local community college and trained to be a HVAC tech. I enjoyed being a DJ and learning from my brother, but it was more of a hobby. We were talking one day about my future and I told him I liked being a DJ but it wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life. My brother has always been supportive and even took me to apply for the HVAC course. I was in school for a year, got certified, and found a job with a local HVAC business. I enjoy working as a HVAC tech, and also being a part time DJ in town. Mostly, I’d have a gig waiting for me when I leave work at the local HVAC business. It’s more of a side hustle, and I earn extra income.

• My first job was at the local cooling corporation, where I knew the entire a/c professional team because most were my neighbors.

Fortunately, they were keen to ensure I learned how to perform HVAC installation and air conditioner tune-up correctly. My first client on my own as an a/c worker was a client who had a studio apartment that needed a quality HVAC unit installed to help with indoor comfort. The client wanted to install an electric heat pump, but consultation with other indoor comfort business experts led me to recommend a ductless mini-split unit. The client wanted it installed just above a window which was okay and easy for a first job alone. I ensured they also got a digital thermostat to help with temperature regulation, especially since they had mentioned that they would be away for short stretches every month. As a company procedure, I also scheduled the client’s first air conditioner service so they would remember. The tensest jobs are the emergency maintenance calls that happen in the middle of summer or winter because the clients are always so desperate for help, but in most cases, we are fewer than the number of callers. It would be easier if all the clients kept up with maintenance though that’s up to them.

Some years back, we had a holiday experience with a host from hell.

However, The holiday homeowner demanded that we leave the house during the day and that the HVAC installation be turned off until we return. The first day was easy because we were excited about sightseeing, but we were too tired on the second day to go anywhere. The house had no thermostat, so we couldn’t adjust the temperatures to what the owner preferred. She brought a fan to help with indoor comfort, but it was too hot. My mom was so angry that she left the comfort of her home, which has a quality HVAC system, to come and bake while on holiday. The owner only softened when we threatened to leave the house for another place. She agreed to back down on how we used the ductless mini-split systems in the four-bedroom house we were renting so long as we used the digital thermostat whenever we were out and opened the windows when it wasn’t too hot.
