When I lived in the north, I hated it.

I kept saying that when I got old enough to leave my parents house, I was going to move south. I was never warm enough, regardless of how good the furnace was working. When I moved south, I didn’t think I’d need a furnace. I thought all I had to do was have an excellent air conditioner, and I would be comfortable. When winter arrived, it shocked me to realize how cold it could get at night. The temperatures dropped to freezing at times, and we had temps that didn’t get out of the fifties for several weeks. We even had some summer days when it was in the sixties, especially when coastal storms were moving in. My neighbor told me I should get a fireplace or some space heaters. She had space heaters in her house, in case we had a cold spell, but she had recently had a furnace installed, as well. I didn’t want to know what it would cost to have a furnace installed, but I knew I could afford a few space heaters. I went to town and bought two space heaters. I had one for the bedroom, and another for the living area. I had a fan that included heat and air conditioning in the bathroom. The following winter was dry and warm, which didn’t bother me, but I knew summer was going to come again. If the storms came through like last year, I would have the space heaters to dry out the house, and help the air conditioning with the humidity.

I used to think HVAC technicians were fair weather employees.

I never saw an HVAC tech outside working when there was even a small amount of rain.

I knew they were probably in another area, but that was the practical side of me. It was raining hard, and my HVAC technician still hadn’t arrived. I was sure it was because of the rain. Two hours later, the rain had become a steady downpour, and there was thunder rumbling all around us. The wind was picking up. Through all the horrible weather, the HVAC came up my driveway, and was getting out of his service van. I told him the air conditioning unit was in the backyard and had a roof over it, but I was afraid for him. I was eating my own words about how they only worked in fair weather, because he was going to go out back and work on my air conditioning unit. I told him the storm was only going to last for half an hour, and it should be dying down soon. I wanted him to enjoy iced tea, coffee, or something else while waiting for the rain to subside, and the thunder and lightning to go away. He told me he had worked many days in this type of weather, and it didn’t bother him. He had a slicker in the van that would keep him fairly dry. He had to get my air conditioning unit repaired before heading to the next house. In this weather, there were more break-downs than any other time of the season.

My worst fear has always been lightning striking my house and it catching on fire.

I was always afraid I would end up stuck in the house and never get out.

I never expect lightning to hit the air conditioning unit. I knew it had struck somewhere near the house, but I didn’t think it had hit the air conditioner. I wanted to go outside and look but it was raining so hard, I thought it would break the windows when it hit. The lightning was coming often, and it illuminated the room, even though the curtains were closed. I went to the living room, and hid in the closet. It was there I realized how hot and stuffy it was in the house, and I could smell ozone inside. The lights were out, and the air conditioning unit wasn’t running. I needed to know what had happened. The storm was calming, and I was looking out the windows. There were no lights anywhere in the area, except for a few sparks coming from my air conditioning unit. I thought I was seeing fog, but what I was seeing was smoke coming off the AC unit. I had to call the power company, but they already knew we were without power. I then called the HVAC company, who had so many calls, they couldn’t answer. I had to wait until morning, when the sparks had subsided, but I could now see the big hole the lightning had blown in its side. I was going to need a new air conditioning unit.

Everyone I know who just got brand new plus completely up-to-date central heating plus a/cs seem to have much smaller heat plus air conditioning units than what I consistently have been used to, then did central heating plus a/cs just shrink? Or am I crazy? Or is this the way they are made these afternoons. I found out after doing some particularly curious research on the internet that yes, it is a fact that central heating plus a/cs are now made much more compact plus light weight than what they were 10 years ago, then which that was about the time I obtained my last central heating plus a/c unit. So I had no idea what they were making now afternoons! Heating plus air conditioning technology and how heating and air conditioning component are made is a whole new world this week verses a decade ago. I find it both amusing plus impressive that they can make an all so powerful plus particularly nice central heating plus a/c these afternoons inside a particularly small plus light weight case! The thing is light enough for a single person to be able to move it instead of it needing 2 to 3 people to move the older central heating plus a/c units that I have known all of my life. HVAC technology never stops imimportant me. I am sure that there are more amazing things just around the corner!

But none of them quite match up to the heating, ventilation & A/C company that is going out of business, but my associate and I also have some independent heat & air conditioning specialist to choose from as well. But to be perfectly legitimate with you all, I never felt wonderful about hiring independent heating, ventilation & A/C specialists to take care of my heating & cooling needs. I just do not like that fact that if they did something wrong there would be no one I could complain to or get resolution with in terms of upper management. So I will stick to heat & air conditioning companies.

And what was real shocking to me was the fact that the central heating, ventilation & A/C was way smaller than any other heat & air conditioning unit I have ever bought in my whole entire life! It seems that they build central heating, ventilation & A/Cs much smaller than they used to.

It easily is amazing when you believe about it that they are now able to build the particularly best & most current central heat & air conditionings into small Heating & A/C units like the one I absolutely just bought. I easily didn’t know what to say when I first saw it. At first I was thinking that the central heating, ventilation & A/C was off or something, and or possibly I got some kind of swamp cooler. But the heating, ventilation & A/C company that installed my brand modern & totally current central heat & air conditioning unit insisted that this was the exact central heating, ventilation & A/C that I purchased & that it would work wonders for my home. And boy were they right! This small central heating, ventilation & A/C has much better air flow, much more power & is overall much quieter than my ancient central heating, ventilation & A/C unit. I could not have asked for a better & most current central heat & air conditioning than the one I bought & I am particularly content with it.
